“Don’t think about what can happen in a month. Don’t think about what can happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you can to get closer to where you want to be.”

You choose to be disciplined. There’s no process. You either decide to get out of your own way and do what you have to do
Or you don’t.
This might be helpful:
– Make rules: I will order water at restaurants. I will schedule my workouts and keep them because they are appointments with myself. I will take the stairs. And so on.
– If you break a rule, just do the next right thing. You skipped a workout to go out to dinner with your family? Order water. Take the stairs when you get back to your place. Don’t beat yourself up, just do the next right thing.
–If you’re constantly breaking a rule, figure out why and work around it. You NEVER make your workouts because you’ve scheduled them before work and you always oversleep? Go to bed earlier. Walk at lunch. Schedule workouts after work. Do whatever will get you exercising. Similarly, if you always order coffee with cream and sugar with breakfast, put less sugar in it. Then put less than that. When you get used to that, drink it with just cream. Or sub coffee with sugar for a sugary pop, since coffee with 4 sugar packets (!!!!) has about 16 grams of sugar, but a Coke has about 40 grams of sugar. D:
–Make it easy. Wear your walking shoes to work so you can walk on break. Pack a lunch full of healthy food that you actually like. If you’re not a morning person, schedule evening workouts. And so on.
Big Effing Reminder: If you’re adopting a healthier lifestyle, please don’t get discouraged after a damn week. You need to be patient and remember this is a slow, steady process and your body needs time to adjust. This shit doesn’t happen overnight or in a week. Chill.
